Die himmlischen Freuden, "the heavenly joys," surround us; in love and in life, in the natural world around us, and in our own imaginations, we can find elements of the divine. Sopranos Caitlin Glastonbury and Emily Alexander explore the representation of this sacred omnipresence in music from the classical and musical theater repertoire in collaboration with pianist Hui-Chuan Chen. Songs by Francis Poulenc, Richard Strauss, and Hub Miller are paired with familiar tunes from The Sound of Music and Little Women and arias from Susannah, Mahler's Symphony No. 4, and the iconic "Flower Duet" from Lakmé.
